About Missionary Loretta Jackson
At the age of 15 I accepted the Lord as Savior and was baptized in the Church of God In Christ that same year. Our Church had a revival meeting and it was through the preached word that evening during alter call and not wanting to spend eternity away from God’s presence that I surrendered my life to Christ.
I can’t remember not attending church up until I left home at the age of 19 when I entered Military Service as a Medic. Although I left the church, the church never left me. And neither did the Lord. I’m grateful that God saw fit to keep me safe in some of the foolish decisions that I involved myself in. Our God is a God of second chances. I needed it for all the mistakes that I made. Finally in 1986 I rededicated my life back to the Lord. I can’t say that it has all been good, but I do know that through all the storms in my life Jesus has been in the boat with me and used me for His glory. I was at a low point in my life in 1995 when God called me into missions. I was studying at a Bible School in Baltimore Maryland when a missionary came to a church that I had been invited to my by neighbor. This missionary had served in Haiti for many years and spoke about how God had drawn many people in that country to the Lord.
That God was in need of people who would be willing to go and tell others about His Love for them and win souls for the Kingdom. She asked us to pray about the request. Sitting in the church on that night the Holy Spirit spoke too me and said “this is the work that I have chosen for you”. In 1996 I went on my 1st short term mission trip to Mexico. It was a wonderful 10 days of witnessing and teaching God’s word. I have been involved in Missions since that time and travel to many countries teaching and witnessing for the Lord. Some of the significant events and blessings from the Lord in my life were starting a Mission Board in my church ( prior to my joining there were none); President of my missions board for over 10 years; Teaching Adult Sunday school; Street Witnessing, Volunteer at local soup kitchens in and around Baltimore city; Leading others to Christ; Prepare mission Retreats; Mission workshop Leader/Presenter; Organize/prepare community meals for Thanksgiving’s/Christmas; Other accomplishments: I have a BS degree in Criminal Justice, a Masters in Divinity. I am now retired from working with the Social Security Administration after almost 31 years of Government Service. Now God has called me into full time missions and I am a missionary with WEC International (Worldwide Evangelization for Christ) since December 2006. I have been charged to pray and mobilize African Americans to heed the call of Matthew 28:18 & 20.
